I grew up watching MADtv and although it is often compared as the clunky cousin of SNL, I think that show had some brilliant sketches. After fourteen seasons it was canceled this year, but thankfully some of its best sketches are still archived online. Though SNL has always been a bigger presence in televised sketch comedy, I always thought that MADtv not only had better characters but hilarious music video parodies. I have complied a list of my favorite MADtv music vids, and to get the humor you probably should be familiar with the original videos.

These were always my favorite part of Mad TV - My favorites were Whatever, Don't Matter and Me Against Madonna, though Black Friend was pretty funny.

I was just talking to a friend about how really good some MadTV was. Some of my favorites were the amazing Debra Wilson's Mariah/Whitney's "Not Insane" and "The Greatest (Statutory Rapist)". And though they're not parodies of any specific song, I really love MC Escher's "Blank in a Blank" and "Sad 50 Cent".

I still remember Love Muffin. Hilarious. Debra Wilson was the best thing on that show.
