Adult I am now maybe

I have finally moved in and I'm on my own in the city.

My location is awesome. Im a block from the lake where all the hot people run. Pec city. The bus route outside my building takes me directly downtown, and I am within walking distance of Wrigley field and its accompanying vibes. My apartment is what you would probably expect from a low-rent good-location situation, and its a building that I feel is quite common in my area. Built half a century ago, they have the elevators that were used on the Titanic and color schemes that were abandoned and never updated, aesthetically placing you in different time periods.

My hall smells like cat pee, which is fine, because I totally love cat pee. I practically roll around in it in my free time. My apartment is a pretty decent size for a studio, but if you scraped down the 25 layers of paint on the walls there might be more room. Even the light switches are painted over.

But its a great feeling being here. Its a big deal, and I think its finally time to see what I am made of. Oh, and lots and lots of sex. Also, maybe a Jamba Juice. I don't know what I am saying.

Congrats! I am almost jealous (because you are done moving and I haven't even started) but you have just described what I am about to experience in a little more than a month and my new apartment is also going to be in the same area where you are, so I totally relate.

Can't wait!

Wrigleyville is awesome. You're gonna love Chicago man. Have fun! But not too much.. since you're like, an actual adult now.

Ah you moved just in time for Lollapalooza. I'm very, very jealous.

I'm moving to Ottawa next month, and it doesn't host any outdoor indie music festivals. I'd take cat pee hallways for Lollapalooza over cushy townhouses for question period anytime.

Congrats! You made it. I live a block from the lake too, in Lakeview, so I bet we are neighbors! Although...my building hallway doesn't smell like cat pee...

See you soon!
